Why You Should Use a Smart Watch

Matt Thompson
Many people seem to think smartwatches are a waste of money. Those who say things like this rarely have the knowledge of how a smartwatch works. Smart watches are not just for viewing the time in a fancy way, they do much more. This story will cover why smart watches are not a waste of money and why you should get one.

Smartwatches don’t just tell you time

After the invention of smartphones, watches became less and less relevant which would describe the drop-in sells for watches but smartwatches are on the rise and have increased the sale by a long shot. Smartwatches do a lot to make your life easier.

Easier Navigation - A travel guide

Smartwatches like Apple Watches can give vibrations to tell if you should turn left or right while you follow directions. You don’t have to constantly look at your phone to know which path to take and you can enjoy the surroundings instead of blindingly walking and hitting a pole.

Don’t know where your phone is?

Not a problem. Most smartwatches have a find phone feature that you can use to connect your watch to your phone and when lost you can simply ring it using your watch. You can just press a few buttons to locate your phone in seconds.

Notifications

Once you own a smartwatch you don’t have to take your phone out of your pocket to see the notifications or to know if they are relevant. Your smartwatch shows you notifications as well and you can know if it’s important or not simply by glancing at your watch.

Answering your calls

Some smartwatches let you answer calls directly from your watch. Different smartphones approach the method differently. If you have headphones on and need to receive a call some smartphones allow you to answer it and lets you use your headphone or phone’s speaker to talk, convenient to say the least.

Fitness tracker

Almost all smartwatches have step trackers that let you know how much distance you have traveled by foot and how many steps you have taken in a single day. Some smartwatches can track your heartbeat very accurately and others support various fitness apps and can track your sleeping habits and schedule.

Health tracking

Many smartwatches support third-party fitness and health apps which will help you determine your health depleting habits and inspire you to adopt a healthier lifestyle. They track your sleeping habits, your calorie intake, calorie burnt, steps walked and hours slept. They also notify you if you are having a lack of sleep.
All in all, smartwatches are convenient, add value to our lives and justify their price tags. When it comes to smartwatches, Apple is at the top of the game. Check out this smartwatch for iPhone as it even exceeded my expectations.
